Wow, 3000-words? I got my first 1700 written in an hour and have spent the last 2 hours fiddling with the website -- ugh.

Keep writing, Christy! :)

Congratulations on a great first day of NaNo!

The God's of Inspiration have bestowed upon me a few quotes which I will pass on to you.

"One of the illusions of life is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of your life." Ralph Waldo Emerson

"If you hear a voice within say, 'You are not a painter,' then by all means paint...and that voice will be silenced." Vincent Van Gogh

"Fill your papers with the breathings of your heart." William Wadsworth.

And a personal favorite:
"You can't wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club." Jack London

(I'd like to check out Holbrook: A Lizard's Tale by Bonny Becker)

Good Luck Keri! I'm rooting for you!

Hey Rena! Congrats on the 1700! I've been having trouble w/ the NaNo site. Is that the one you've been fiddling with? I'm getting frustrated.

Thanks Kelly!

Oh Great Bish, Giver of Inspiration, thank you for imparting me with words of wisdom! I'm feeling much more motivated now!

Ian, stop whining. It's not my fault that you're doing Nano too. :0P Or Janelles. ;0) Channel that negativity into your NaNo project and you'll be done in no time. Let's learn to use our nice words when blogging Ian. Nice words! ;0P
(P.S. to everybody, Ian is really my friend even though he can be a pooh-head at times.)

Wow, Christie, 3000 words the first day. You must have a super outline in place. Congratulations and more power to you this month. I heard The Secret Life of Bees got its start as a NANO project.

Your book give-away is a fine idea Hope I win one!

3000 words--wow! What a great start to Nano. That's showing it who's boss! Hope you're enjoying the ride!

You're doing great!

Hi Dorothy!

I do have a pretty thorough outline. I worked all October on it, plus backstory and everything. Thanks! I had no idea about the Life of Bee's. that's so interesting.

Thanks Angela! I was enjoying the 1st day of NaNo until my laptop fell from the kitchen counter and crashed on the floor. My laptop is toast. At least I had the foresight to save my 3000 words on a USB drive, so I didn't loose that and I can use my hubbies laptop until I can figure out if mine can be fixed.

Thanks PJ! :0)

Your ticker still isn't working, Christy. I'm sure you know that and don't need me reminding you. **SLAP** I updated mine a second time last night and noticed it's taking a couple of hours (at least) for it to go from the main site to show up on your ticker.

I haven't been on the NaNo site today yet, so I don't know how it's working. Last night it freaked me out when I tried to update my word count and it told me another user already had and I couldn't change it. WTF? So I logged off and went back on and the new word count was up. I guess with it being so slow, it just took awhile to show up. Patience is priceless -- or so they USED TO SAY back in the old days!

OMG -- I just noticed your reply about your laptop falling on the floor. Have you found out if it can be fixed yet? Yikes!

wow!!! 3000 words! you do know you have 30 whole days to finish right? and that you only have to write 50,000 words in those 30 days? grin...

At this rate, you will have almost 2 NaNo novels written...grin...

hmmm...so does that mean we get another contest....grin...???

Hugs...keep up the great work!
