I want to give a shout out to my critique buddy, Janelle. She is doing a series of planning for NaNo tips on her blog at http://Writermorphosis.blogspot.com
Janelle has done NaNo several times and she was also a Cybils judge last year for the fantasy/sci-fi category.

Have you been doing PlaNo WriMo for NaNo WriMo? or are you more of a No Plan-i-mo for NaNo WirMo? OR if you don't do NaNo, how do you prepare for writing a new work in general.

I'm a NoMoPlaMo, usually, but I got all excited and started being a PlaNo.
Then I got so exhausted at the thought of all the work ahead of me that I can't write a word.
I'm abstaining. But...if I did it at this point, there would be no planning possible :)
Thanks for the Shout Out, Christy!
I'm a PlaNo WriMo. : ) Thus my current series of blog posts to get wrimos ready for November 1st! (A new post about developing characters will be showing up later today).
I'll have weekly motivation-station blog posts to keep us all enthused about our writing during nano as well.
Best of luck on your nano! Happy writing to all!
LOL Jacqui, maybe you should stick with the NoMo PlaMo route.
Well PJ, it does seem like you've got a lot going on with a book launch and all! (You lucky duck!) So you can be excused this year and this year only! ;0) 'cause after all, your reader are going to want more!
Hey Janelle! I look forward to reading your other posts!
MeNo NaNo, but I'm the sort of person that has to break big projects up into bite-sized pieces. Otherwise I'm too overwhelmed to even get started.
I cleano my roomo...that counts, right?
I will also be checking out janelle's blog to help me with everything else I have to do before NaNo takes over my life...
No NaNo For MeNo. But when I do plan for a new PB book, I get a few research books in front of me and my rhyming dictionary and thesaurus and I let it flow...not much more planning than that!
Good luck!
Adrienne, LOL! I like meno nano! funny!
Brenda, I do think cleano your roomo does count because having a freshly spruced up room does help with motivation!
THanks for the luck wishes and sharing your planning stuff! Do you have a hard copy rhyming dictionary or do you use an online one?
I'm mulling it over. I have to plot some things out, get a few set pieces figured out. Then I just let-er rip!
I'm planning for NaNo this time, big time. Last time I completed NaNoWriMo, I didn't plan (2004), and I still haven't figured out how to make that novel work. This time I'm doing a lot of planning. If I don't figure out how the MC solves the problem before Nov. 1, that might not be planned out.
Thanks for the link, and good luck with your planning!
Stephanie
Good luck angela! I hope it goes well!
Hey Sruble! Thanks for sharing your experience w/ planning. I've been planning a lot. I knew I needed to because my mind just works better that way. I'm not good at doing things on the fly.
OOPS! False alarm on my "characterization post" It went up a day late (10/21) and is now no longer wearing it's invisibility cloak. Ah...the crazy things that happen just prior to nano!
Okay, I just signed up. I was looking for you so I could add you as a buddy, but I couldn't find you! :(
I'm 'tabwriter,' of course. :)
